Biography

Sifu Ricky Leturia (it was born in September 26, 1960), began its training at the age of 13 years in the Cu with Chau temple, of the Chinese society in Peru Lima (China Town). He is the second direct, descending generation of famous and world-wide Master Wong Fei Hung (he taught Hung Ka) and the Teacher Chan Wa Shan (who taught Wing Chun Kung Fu) he was for a time, Yip Man’s sifu. They were, of the Sifu’s Choy Fong Lum Kung fu masters in China, (Canton). After training the bases, the master Choy invited sifu Leturia to practice, with a small group, consisting of seven of the best, of his students.
Sifu Leturia, practiced the best t of his abilities, at the sifu’s Choy, for a period of five years, during which they two got together, like father and son. Master Choy invited Sifu Leturia to come to live with him, to his house to train. With time master Choy took him as his son, adoptive son, but for sifu Leturia, his training continued and stronger than ever. Sifu Letruia completed his academic studies, as a Publicist in Marketing, in Lima, Peru.
After 5 years of dedication, practicing 6 hours daily 6 times per week, master Choy, select Mr. Ricky Leturia as a Sifu (master). He humbly continued training and practicing, under the teachings of his adoptive father. At the beginning of the eighties, Master Choy , was very ill, and knew that he did not have long time of life. And at that time, is when he passed sifu Leturia, his secrets, in recognition of his effort and dedication, naming him as the only keeper of the system and a person in charge to pass on the knowledge of kung fu. Master Leturia mastered the system at the age of 22 years. He moved permanently to the United States, right after his sifu and adoptive father pass away, in the year 1980. He open his first school of Kung Fu in Oklahoma, now more than 15 years and continues running , with more than 100 students, run by his Black sashes, instructors Si Hing Curtis Fletcher, Si Hing Derek Laurence and his Brown Sash Martin . Sifu Leturia’s philosophy is to improve in a constant progress, hard work and the personal attitudes as well as of the conjuring”. He says, “is everything on the development of the internal growth, the deep understanding of the art, control of the mind, and more important, the respect to life with each breath that we take”. The efforts and the talents from sifu’s Leturia have been a remarkable advantage the United States in the city of Oklahoma as well as many others.
Sifu Leturia does not train his students for the tournaments, because he does not promote Kung Fu as sports. Some his students participates in some of the tournaments, even though they don’t learn for tournaments, they have won the first positions in international and local championships in forms and fight. Sifu Leturia has made demonstrations in different parts from the United States. When he it makes its demonstrations, it receives much respect of other teachers and they always approach to him, as a recognition of its Kung Fu.

A native of New Hampshire, Derek Lawrence recently obteining his black sash in Lima Peru under Master Leturia''s testing , currently as a Doctor in music, works as an adjunct professor of piano and piano literature at Oklahoma City University. Derek was originally drawn to Kung Fu to try to further discipline his body and mind and as a way to balance the physical effects of piano practice and performance. Kung Fu offered more than just a workout or means of measuring one's strength against another; it offered a way of physically and mentally disciplining one's life. Competition remained within oneself. Derek has improved highly in his training, Recently obtaining his Black sash in Kung Fu.,

A native of Oklahoma, Senior Instructor Curtis Fletcher, recently obteining his black sash in Lima Peru under Master Leturia''s testing, he has always come naturally for and as a child he became interested in music. His interest spurred by his love of martial arts. This passion he had it since he was very young, but circumstance made it unapproachable for him, until by the destiny of live, he met the one who was going to teach him the arts of kung fu. He began learning martial arts many years ago and developed a special bond with his master Ricky Leturia. Subsequently, he had the opportunity to grow and learn as a martial artist and eventually ended up as a co-owner of Shaolin Studios as well as a senior instructor of Hung Gar Shaolin Kung Fu. Recently obtaining his Black sash in Kung Fu.
Teaching kids and adults classes. He found it fascinated the fact that the Kung Fu enabled him to apply discipline to his life in general, becoming a distinguished professional and human being.

Roger Barton (b. 1955) has studied Hung Gar style Kung Fu under Sifu Leturia since 2004, Wu style Tai Chi and Chi Kung since 2006, and is a member of Tiger Crane. Roger achieved the rank of white sash in Tai Chi in 2007, and is currently at green sash rank in Kung Fu. He previously studied Hung Gar style Kung Fu of the Lam Sai Wing school under Sifu Bucksam Kong in Honolulu, and Sifu Y.C. Wong in San Francisco. Roger started studying Tai Chi and Chi Kung for their health benefits, but has found that these "soft" martial arts forms have powerfully enhanced his study of the "hard" Kung Fu style. He served in the USMC from 1972-78, holds degrees from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri, and Oklahoma State University, and manages two careers as both a full-time practicing architect and a part-time professional musician. Roger has improved highly in his Tai Chi training, Master Ricky Leturia has promoted him as a Si Dai , which means younger brother ( instructor) in Tai Chi

A native of Oklahoma ,When he was 12 years old, stated his passion for the martial arts, and started training with Okinawan Kenpo-Karate and Okinawan Kobudo. then after many years of training started teaching karate at the age of 17 years old. He found always facsinating the Chinese Martial Arts, until he found master Leturias Martial Arts, and sow a gran oportunity to start learning this martial arts. And he started learning Hung Gar and Tai Chi with master Leturia at the age of 21 (about four years ago).
In between his education , found always time to dadicate himself to the martial arts, and have a Bachelor of Arts degree in both English Literature and Philosophy. Right now working at a textbook company. Instructor in kung fu and Tai chi
